Notes to The Contents of Perception

1. Distinctions close to that between attitude and content are Frege's distinction between force and sense, and from nineteenth-century German psychologists Carl Stümpf and Oswald Külpe, who distinguished between content and function. For discussion, see Boring (1929).

2. So far we have been discussing how space is represented in experience. For discussion of how time is represented in experience, see entry on the experience and perception of time.
